Runic Inscriptions
42 43 The back of the Casket below shows and tells Tituss capture of Jerusalem with his attacking spearmen. On the left panel opposite top is the classical scene of the shewolf suckling Romulus and Remus. The heathen images on the right panel lower opposite may represent the ascension of a warrior into the afterlife, aided by the Wyrd sisters, the horse and the death bride. The runes on the right panel total 72, twentyfour times a magical three. Particular runes on all panels are enlarged connecting their meaning with the imagery. The casket itself was devised as a portable magical system of protection for the owner, wishing him accumulation of wealth, victory in battle, protection at home, safe journeys and a heroic death. the FrAnKs cAsKet continued
